Paoli, Pennsylvania is located in Chester County. Paoli is in the 19301 zip code. In 1719 Joshua Evan's father purchased 500 Acres from William Penn near the location of the current Paoli Post Office. In 1769 Joshua Evans ran an inn named after General Pasquale Paoli. The town of Paoli developed around this Inn.

In 1777, the Paoli Massacre took place during the Revolutionary War.

The Pennsylvania Railroad has a line that ran from Philadelphia to the Main Line. The last station on the western side of this line is Paoli. People called this line the "Paoli Local."
